Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 1, 2026
Santa Cruz Catering Company (an asset of Fresh Pulp Holdings LLC, referred to below as "Santa Cruz Catering Company," "we," "our," or "us") treats the personal information you send us with the same care we give a client's event file: kept tight, used for the job at hand, and never traded around. This notice explains what we collect when you browse this site, request pricing for a Santa Cruz County catering order, check out through the cart, message a coordinator, sign in to the client portal, or chat with our website assistant.
By using this site or sending us your details, you accept the practices described here. If any part of it gives you pause, contact us before submitting an inquiry and we will explain your options.
1. What You Provide Directly
Most of what we hold is information you typed in yourself. Depending on how far along you get, that may include:
- Name, company or organization, email address, and phone number
- Event details: date, arrival window, guest count, service style, delivery address, venue or campus contact, and access notes such as gate codes, ranch roads, parking, or park permit windows
- Menu selections, dietary needs, allergy notes, and special requests
- Billing contact, purchase order or cost-center references, and tax-exemption documentation where it applies
- Messages, replies, attachments, and coordinator notes exchanged by email, text, or the client portal
- Reviews, referrals, testimonials, and survey responses you choose to send
We never require medical records. When you tell us about an allergy so our kitchen can cook safely, that note is treated as event production information and shared only with the cooks, drivers, and event staff working your order.
2. What Is Collected Automatically
As with essentially every catering website on the Central Coast, ours logs basic technical signals whenever a browser connects: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, approximate region, and actions such as which packages you opened or whether you started a quote. Cookies, pixels, local storage, and comparable tools make that possible. They hold your cart between visits, remember display preferences, show us which service pages genuinely help customers, and support advertising measurement.
Your browser lets you block or clear most cookies. That is entirely your call, though the cart, portal sign-in, and saved-quote features may not work correctly afterward.
3. Payments and Card Information
Card and bank details go into a hosted form provided by our payment processor and are tokenized before they ever reach us. Our systems are not built to store, and are not intended to keep, full card numbers. What we retain is limited to transaction confirmations, the final digits, authorization results, and fraud-screening signals we need to reconcile an order. The processor governs that data under its own security program and privacy terms.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To quote, schedule, cook, pack, deliver, and staff your event
- To confirm logistics, send countdown reminders, and follow up after service
- To handle deposits, balances, refunds, credits, and tax documentation
- To run the client portal, saved quotes, and order history
- To answer questions arriving by form, phone, text, email, or our website assistant
- To screen for duplicate or fraudulent orders and protect our team and systems
- To understand which pages, packages, and price points work best for customers in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Soquel, Aptos, Scotts Valley, Felton, and Watsonville
- To send occasional seasonal menus or promotions when you have opted in
- To satisfy tax, accounting, insurance, food-safety, and other legal obligations
5. When Information Is Shared
We do not sell your contact information. We do share what is necessary with the parties who help us operate:
- Software vendors hosting this site, our database, email delivery, text messaging, calendars, and analytics
- Payment processors and fraud-prevention providers
- Delivery drivers, event staff, rental partners, floral partners, and sub-caterers assigned to your event
- Accountants, insurers, and attorneys advising the company
- Government agencies or courts when a valid legal request, subpoena, or safety concern requires it
- A successor organization if the business or part of it is ever reorganized, sold, or transferred
Vendors receive only the fields their role requires, and are expected to protect that information and use it for our purposes rather than their own.
6. Marketing Communications
With your consent we may email or text menu announcements, holiday ordering deadlines, or Santa Cruz County event ideas. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and replying STOP ends text messages. Operational messages tied to a live order — confirmations, delivery windows, invoices, driver arrival notices — continue either way, because they are part of the service you booked.
7. How Long We Keep It
Quote and order records, correspondence, and financial documentation are retained as long as they help us serve returning clients and as long as tax, accounting, insurance, and recordkeeping rules require. Marketing contact data stays until you opt out or the record goes stale. Technical logs cycle off much sooner. Once a record no longer serves a purpose we delete it or remove the identifying details.
8. Your Choices and Requests
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold information about you and provide a copy
- Correct information that is inaccurate or outdated
- Delete information, except where law or financial rules require us to keep it
- Limit or object to certain uses, including targeted advertising
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time
- Receive the same service and pricing after exercising any of these rights
Email the address in Section 13 to submit a request. We verify identity before acting, which may involve confirming details from a prior order, and we respond within the period applicable law allows. An authorized agent may submit on your behalf with proof of authorization.
9. California Residents
California law grants residents specific rights over personal information: the right to know the categories collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared; the right to request access, correction, and deletion; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of cross-context behavioral advertising; the right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and the right to be free from retaliation for exercising any of them.
The categories we handle are identifiers, commercial information about your orders, limited financial account data processed by our payment provider, internet and device activity, approximate location, and the content of your communications with us. We obtain them from you, from your browser, and from the vendors listed in Section 5, and we use them for the business purposes in Section 4.
We do not exchange personal information for money. Certain advertising and analytics cookies may nonetheless qualify as "sharing" under California's definitions. To opt out of that sharing, or to submit any other California request, contact us using Section 13 or adjust your browser's cookie and Global Privacy Control settings.
10. Children
This site is intended for adults arranging catering for offices, campuses, venues, weddings, and households. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child submitted details to us, contact us and we will remove the record promptly.
11. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls, role-restricted staff permissions, and vetted vendors to protect what you send. No internet system is perfect, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we do commit to investigating problems quickly and notifying affected customers when the law requires it.
12. Outside Sites and Embedded Content
Pages here may link to or embed review platforms, mapping tools, video players, social profiles, or payment pages operated by other companies. Their data practices belong to them and are governed by their own policies, not this one. Review those notices before entering information on their properties.
13. Contact and Updates
Privacy questions, requests, or corrections can be sent to:
